The Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame family will expand in the fall by six members when its 29th class is inducted at Drumlins Country Club.

Bill Aris, Marty Headd, Barbara Adams Henderson, Tom Scherrer, Ormie Spencer and Joan Thomas will bring to 216 the number of Hall electees with their group enshrinement at the BlueRock Energy-sponsored dinner beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18.

Joan Thornton: Bishop Ludden High School and Niagara University basketball star; "Joan the Jet" was three-sport star athlete at Bishop Ludden (basketball, softball, field hockey); selected outstanding athlete in her senior class (1976); led Bishop Ludden to consecutive CNY City League and Section III Class B basketball championships; MVP on both softball and field hockey teams; invited to World University Games tryouts; first woman ever awarded athletic scholarship to Niagara; four-year captain/starter who scored 1,106 points during career; led Niagara to third place in AIAW national championship tournament; Academic All-American; Bishop Ludden Distinguished Alumni Award winner; GTE Academic All-American Hall of Fame; Niagara University Athletic Hall of Fame; MAAC Basketball Hall of Fame Honor Roll.

Concussion Management and Return to Play Protocols:

The link above describes the nature and symptoms of concussion injuries.  In recent years, the long-term damage and possible permanent impairment caused by head injuries has become a focus in athletics.  The response to these potentially life threatening injuries has changed.  Please read by clicking on the concussion management link above.

Student Health History Form

This link provides you with a downloadable copy of our Health History Form.  This must be filled out at the beginning of  every season that a student plays a sport as medical information may change during the course of a season.  Please deliver this form, filled out completely AND SIGNED to the main office.  

Gaelic Knight Team Fees and Requirements:

Athletic Fees are as follows:

Varsity Sports 1st sport:     165

Modified Sport 1st sport:     140

Varsity Sport 2nd or 3rd:     100

Modified Sport 2nd or 3rd:      75

Varsity Football:                  190

Modified Football:                165

All students must have a Student Athlete Questionnaire filled out and a CURRENT physical.

Students may not practice or tryout for teams unless these requirements are fulfilled.

Student Athlete Questionnaires are available in the main office.  A student's physical must have been 

completed within one year of the start date for desired sport, otherwise a new physical is required in 

order to participate.
