Course Description

The emphasis in this course is on the individual as s/he encounters business law in his/her personal, family and occupational life. From the study of business law, students gain a genuine respect and intelligent application for a segment of the law that affects students both in their personal and work environments. Topics covered include: history of out legal system, courts and court procedures, contracts, buying and selling goods, ethics, legal forms of business ownership, insurance, renting, owning real estate, employer and employee relationships, commercial paper, credit and bankruptcy. Interactive discussions and debate, along with current events, are important parts of this class.
