James Gaspo has been named as the next Chairmen of the Board of Trustees, taking over for Carl Masterpole.
Jim is a 1981 graduate of Bishop Ludden and earned an M.B.A. and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Le Moyne College. Jim has deep roots and a long history of community service in Central New York. He currently serves on the boards of the Center for Economic Growth, the Business Council of New York State, the Greater Syracuse Services Corp/Salvation Army, and the Madden School of Business at Le Moyne College.
“Jim and I know each other from team sports in the early 80’s together at Ludden. We work well together, so the transition will be smooth and effective. Jim will be a great leader in the Ludden Community” said Masterpole.
Jim will be taking the lead on a Board that has grown significantly in membership in recent years. The addition of 7 new Board members in the last 18 months has had a major impact on the school’s growth and success. Academic excellence, enrollment and fund development growth have always been the focus of the Board of Trustees. The recent changes are a direct reflection of those priorities.
A current Board member notes, “Carl has led the Board through some significant changes in the way that Ludden is governed. Local control, and a strong presence of experienced alumni, are now a reality at Ludden.”
Together with a new administrative team, the Bishop Ludden Board of Trustees is well positioned to make real changes to the growth and success of the school many have come to know for its long standing tradition of excellence.
