Alumni Spotlight

Lisa Palermo Matto is a 1984 graduate and is thrilled to be returning to the school and reconnecting the Ludden family. Lisa will be working part-time as she is also the Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry at St. James. Lisa’s favorite memories of Ludden include the teachers and how they always encouraged students to be kind, caring and supportive of each other. As she recalls “Mr. Wilcox was the Vice Principal and Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for decades. By the third day of school he knew every student in the building. At that time Ludden was quite large and every morning he would be standing at the main doors and he would greet us by saying, “Good Morning Sunshine.” He would pop up in the hallway when you least expected it and he knew everything that went on. He was known as the “bear” but in reality, he was a moral compass for all of us. His influence is what helped make most of us good, upstanding people.” Lisa is excited to build and maintain relationships with our alumni and donors. She wants everyone to want to revisit Ludden and relive the memories in the place that helped shape them.

Emily Wheeler is a 2012 graduate and is looking forward to returning to the halls of Ludden. Emily will be improving alumni relations by updating contact information, sending out information such as newsletters, and helping plan Ludden events including reunions. Emily’s favorite part about Ludden was having the ability to play two sports, participate in the musicals, join student government and help plan and volunteer at events. One of her favorite memories was Ludden Day. Especially as seniors, this day gives you the opportunity to celebrate the end of the school year with your fellow classmates. “We signed yearbooks, the parents came and helped serve food, we were able to go outside and play games, there was a pie eating contest and balloon toss, and we watched the student council perform skits. Overall, it was a great day of fun and I was able to be with the whole school and it is something that I will always remember.”

We are very excited to have Lisa and Emily on board! If you haven’t updated your contact information, please do so using the form here. This will ensure you receive alumni and event information!
