Mr. Al Thomson founded the instrumental music program at Bishop Ludden over 20 years ago. He is currently the director of bands.

Mr. Thomson is also a very active professional performer himself, both regionally and nationally. He’s played with the Syracuse University Brass Ensemble, Skaneateles Brass and the O.C.M.E.A. In 2013, Mr. Thomson was appointed to a principal position with President Lincoln’s Own Band – the nation’s top civil war band – and the band that was featured in Spielberg’s movie “Lincoln”.
