This course is designed for students who are interested in learning more about science and who have a wide range of mathematical and scientific abilities. Topics include matter and energy, atomic structure, bonding, acids and gases, mathematics of chemistry, equilibrium and kinetics, and organic chemistry. Included in the course are laboratory experiments as required by the State Regents Board. Laboratory investigations are a major part of the course.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of courses in Earth Science, Living Environment and Geometry. Regents scores in Math and Science are considered.
